Pianta di Lorenzo Quilici e Stefania Quilici Gigli 1994

La più completa pianta di Ferentino è quella realizzata da Lorenzo Quilici e Stefania Quilici Gigli, ultima anche in ordine cronologico tra quelle rivolte alla descrizione della città. La carta nasce da uno studio dettagliato della topografia urbana, che ha permesso di integrare le conoscenze già acquisite con i nuovi dati scaturiti dall'indagine sul campo e di elaborare il tutto secondo i più recenti metodi di mappatura. In particolare, la carta è il risultato sia della ricerca d'archivio e bibliografica sia della ricognizione diretta della città, che ha portato ad identificare con più sicurezza le strutture note ed a scoprirne di nuove. Tutti i monumenti urbani sono stati quindi riportati in scala sulla pianta e la loro ubicazione è stata ulteriormente verificata sulla basedel confronto con le fotografie aeree. Tra gli aspetti più innovativi rispetto alla precedente tradizione cartografica ferentinate l'introduzione nella pianta dei dati sulla conformazione geologica del suolo, che hanno inserito i monumenti antichi nel loro contesto e permesso di capire meglio certe scelte insediative.
