Nel 1828 Antonio Fea stese una pianta della "moderna Ferentino, Recinto antico e Cittadella", che insieme alle piante di G. Bono, T. Ashby, A. Bartoli e M. Candidi Dionigi costituisce una delle principali fonti di informazione per gli archeologi moderni. La pianta comprende l'abitato degli inizi dell'800 e le strutture antiche, queste ultime distinte da un tratto più marcato. Tra gli edifici più significativi si segnalano quelli nell'area dell'acropoli, indicata come "Cittadella", mentre il circuito delle mura prevede l' indicazione delle porte S. Agata, Sanguinaria, S. Maria, S. Croce, Montana e Portella. Trattandosi di una pianta non recente, la sua lettura va affrontata con spirito critico: si può quindi notare che le torri che Fea indica lungo le mura non sono antiche ma medioevali, e non vanno quindi considerate per la ricostruzione delle mura romane. Analoga considerazione vale per la carta stesa da Bartoli.
